Celebrating Hello Kitty’s 40th anniversary, the Experience Music Project in Seattle, Washington, is hosting the “Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty” exhibit. Through May 15, visitors to the EMP can view rare pieces from the Sanrio archives. collection along with “mixed media works from contemporary artists around the globe inspired by Hello Kitty,” according to the EMP website. Originally on display at the Japanese American National Museum, the exhibition includes statues, paintings, memorabilia and displays in which Hello Kitty has influenced pop culture. The exhibit is included in museum admission and free for EMP Museum members.
