The 2016 Sandpoint Winter Carnival will be held February 12-21. The carnival is an annual event that has been held in the city of Sandpoint, Idaho since 1973. Over the course of these ten days there will many activities (most of them free) in and around the city of Sandpoint. The carnival kicks off with the Parade of Lights, a parade that goes around the center of the city and is made up of floats and marching groups from local groups and businesses. The events for the next nine days range from Beer Hall Bingo (21+) to a laser light show at Schweitzer Mountain Resort. Check out the whole list on the carnival website. This carnival comes to a close on February 21 with the popular K-9 Keg Pull, a dog race in which dogs of all sizes pull containers from beer cans to kegs. The Sandpoint Winter Carnival is a fun, and inexpensive, way to get out of the house and enjoy winter in the Northwest.
